Our Projects / Kaitaia

Kaitaia

Located in the Far North, our Kaitaia project is Aotearoa’s first utility-scale solar farm to supply the national grid. Constructed in 2023, the Lodestone Kaitaia farm is now operational.

The project brought together local iwi, communities, construction partners, and Lodestone Energy’s wider team to deliver renewable energy by harnessing the power of the sun, with the additional bonus of a new native forest through seven hectares of planting.

Kaitaia is just the start of Aotearoa’s energy generation future.
